Location QR Code
Generate location QR codes
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a QR code for a map location?
Enter latitude and longitude coordinates or search for an address. The tool generates a QR code using the geo: URI scheme. When scanned, it opens the default maps app (Google Maps, Apple Maps) centered on that location.
What format does the location QR code use?
The QR code encodes a geo URI: geo:latitude, longitude (e.g., geo:40.7128,-74.0060 for New York). Some implementations use Google Maps URLs for broader compatibility. The tool supports both formats.
Where are location QR codes useful?
Event invitations (venue location). Business cards (office address). Tourism (points of interest). Real estate listings (property location). Delivery instructions (drop-off point). They provide one-tap navigation to any location.
Can I add a label to the location QR code?
Yes. The geo URI supports a query parameter for labels: geo:40.7128,-74.0060?q=Empire+State+Building. The label appears as a pin name in the maps app. The tool lets you add a custom location name alongside coordinates.
How accurate are location QR codes?
As accurate as the coordinates you provide. GPS coordinates with 6 decimal places are accurate to about 0.11 meters. The tool accepts coordinates from Google Maps (right-click → coordinates) or manual entry. Verify the pin location before generating.
