How do I calculate the number of months between two dates?
Enter a start and end date. The calculator counts complete calendar months plus remaining days. From January 15 to April 20 = 3 months and 5 days. It handles varying month lengths correctly.
How does the calculator handle partial months?
A complete month is counted when the same day number is reached in the next month. January 15 to February 15 = exactly 1 month. January 15 to February 10 = 0 months and 26 days. Remaining days are shown separately.
Can I add months to a date?
Yes. Enter a start date and number of months to add. Adding 6 months to August 31 gives February 28 (or 29 in leap years), since February does not have 31 days. The calculator adjusts to the last valid day.
How many months is a typical pregnancy?
A full-term pregnancy is approximately 9 months and 1 week (40 weeks or 280 days from the last menstrual period). The calculator can determine the exact month count between your LMP date and due date.
How is the month count used in finance?
Loan terms, lease agreements, and subscription billing use month counts. A 36-month car loan from March 15, 2025 ends March 15, 2028. The calculator helps verify payment schedules and contract end dates.
